While pre-ordering my iPad yesterday I got my first look at the AppleCare plan and pricing.
For Apple newbies, AppleCare is the company’s extended warranty program. I’ve owned Macs and other Apple products for years and I can tell you that it’s worth every penny. Even better, you don’t need to decide right now – you have up until your original one-year manufacturer’s warranty ends to order it.
For $99, your AppleCare for iPad includes:
- An additional one year of coverage bringing your total warranty period to two years
- One-stop service and support from Apple experts via telephone or at your local Genius Bar
- Mail-in and Carry-in repair from Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider
What’s covered:
- Your iPad
- The iPad Internal Battery
- The included USB cable and power adapter
- Software support including iTunes, Syncing with a Mac or PC, Connecting to Wireless Networks, Sending and Receiving Email, Using iWork and other Apple-branded apps
