
Since I purchased Skyfire for my iPhone 4 a couple of months ago, I’ve been longing for an iPad version. Using nothing short of transcoding wizardry, Skyfire is an iOS browser that enables you to play Flash videos on your iPhone on both WiFi and 3G that will soon come to your iPad.

Someone took the time to perform a video comparison of a Windows 7 slate from Hanvon (a Chinese CE manufacturer) and the Apple iPad. The results are interesting, but other than the on-screen keyboard, putting Windows 7 on a tablet is still a kludge, in my opinion. The Adobe Flash support is nice to see, though. You know the phrase, “Put up or shut up?”
Well, Adobe did just that.
Today, the company announced the availability of their first native iPhone OS app created using Flash Professional CS5 Beta – Connect Pro Mobile. It doesn’t really have wide appeal – it’s a mobile client for participating in web meetings using the company’s Connect Pro Server product – but that’s not the point. The point is that Flash developers can use the tools that they know and love to create native apps – and just in time for the launch of the iPad. Link after the jump.

Erick Schonfeld at TechCrunch has heard from an “industry insider” that Hulu is not only developing an iPhone app but that it will be ready in time for the launch of the Apple iPad.
For those who know how Hulu works, this is not a huge technical leap, but a smart business decision. Hulu’s video is already encoded in H.264 which plays natively on the iPhone so the company would have to make one decision: load the videos in Safari using a custom HTML5 player or hand them off to the native Quicktime Player for playback.
Running the Hulu business will be a bit trickier.

If there’s one product considered a direct competitor to the Apple iPad it’s Notion Ink’s Adam Tablet. Officially introduced at CES, this tablet packs the latest generation Nvidia Tegra chipset and Pixel Qi’s remarkable LCD technology (video after the jump). According to Notion Ink CEO Rohan Shravan, there’s a lot more to be excited about than just the display.
For starters, how about battery life that’s 2-3x that of iPad?
