Kindle App Updated to Version 2.1, New Fonts and Search Options [Updated: Screenshots]

Kindle App IconAmazon has updated their Universal Kindle App for iPad and iPhone. The iPad gets the addition of bigger fonts and more font sizes along with easier and faster navigation between home and archived items on iPad.

The iPhone gets the ability to search inside the book – iPad users will have to wait for this feature.

Review: Air Display App for iPad Adds Screen Real Estate to Your Mac

Air Display for iPadAs you probably expected, I carry a lot of gadgets with me. Because of that, I’ve always opted for small notebooks and subsequently, iBooks, PowerBooks and now MacBooks. I use a 13-inch MacBook (and soon, MacBook Pro) because it’s small, light and has great battery life.

When I’m in my office, I use an external display as my primary screen and my MacBook display as secondary. But when I’m on the road, I’m always disappointed by the amount of screen real estate I have to work with when using only the MacBook’s built-in display. So when I saw Air Display for the iPad, I had to give it a try.

While it’s nice to see what the iPad App Store will look like, it’s even better to see which apps have already been approved and will most likely launch along with the store.

Apple Creates ‘Explicit’ Category for App Store in Advance of iPad Launch [UPDATE]

App Store Explicit Category - Mature Audiences OnlyAre bikinis and boobs coming back to Apple’s App Store? With the addition of the new “Explicit” category, they just may.

A developer has informed Cult of Mac about the inclusion of the new category, even providing screen shots from the iTunesWebConnect web site. (Screen capture after the jump.)

The addition of this category could hint at a “Mature Audiences-Only” section of the App Store which would hide these types of apps from kids, teens and even grown-ups who might find these types of apps offensive. Does that mean they’ll loosen up their requirements and allow more racier apps, as well?

I’d guess not. However, the segregation of these apps could make life easier for everyone. Or more difficult.
