I’m excited by the fact that their entry-level and smaller-sized models now support the iPad. Why carry a 1.5 pound tablet and a 5 pound battery?

Review: REI Tech Wrap Laptop Sleeve for iPad
In my quest for the perfect iPad gear bag, I stopped off at an REI retail location this weekend and discovered the REI Tech Wrap Laptop Sleeve. Keep in mind that my definition of “perfect” may be different than yours. I need something that can hold not only my iPad but also my Apple Bluetooth Keyboard, my Aluratek CDM530AM 3G WiFi hotspot and USB 3G dongle, my iPad power adapter and 30-pin dock cable, my notebook, my Livescribe Pulse smartpen and perhaps my Klipsch S4i headphones.
The sleeve comes in four sizes (Extra-Small, Small, Medium and Large) but since this was for an iPad, I immediately grabbed the Extra-Small model.
HyperMac Releases World’s First iPad External Battery
One of my biggest pet peeves is having a dead battery when I need a gadget most. This mild obsession of mine has led me to purchase an external battery for my iPhone that I love – the Fastmac iV – but its USB port doesn’t charge my iPad. As you’ve probably learned, the iPad requires 10 Watts (2.1 Amps) of power in order to charge properly and many USB ports don’t suffice.
